I ignored other reviews and videos for years about both of these products. I finally decided to pair them together recently in a wash and go.
I have fine texture, low porosity natural hair. Since my hair is more course on the sides, the definition is usually not as defined. My hair does not like hair products with milk in them or creamy products, and a lot of gels dry out my hair except two. They are Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic and Camille Rose Curl Maker.
After I shampooed and deep conditioned my hair, I applied Kinky Curly Knot Today Natural Leave-in/Detangler. I was skeptical about trying it because it was creamy and most creamy products just sit on top of my hair. One thing to remember, low porosity hair requires heat so the products can penetrate the hair. So I decided to put a plastic cap on and my Hot Head Deep Conditioning Heat Cap for about 20 minutes. What I love about this cap is I can deep condition and clean the house at the same time. It is a must have if you don't like being tied to a hair dryer.
As I was putting Kinky Curly Knot Today Natural Leave-in/Detangler on my hair I couldn't help thinking, wow! so much slip. It went on so easy and my hair immediately began to curl right away. I have not seen this happen with any other leave-in. In the 20 minutes using the plastic cap with the Hot Head Deep Conditioning Heat Cap, the Kinky Curly Knot Today Natural Leave-in/Detangler had all absorbed into my hair. It left my hair soft and moisturized.
I applied Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic on top of Kinky Curly Knot Today Natural Leave-in/Detangler. It went on really smooth, and my sides had the best definition ever. However, my hair took more time to dry, so I used a diffuser because my hair was still wet before bed. Camille Rose Curl Maker is still one of my favorite gels as well.
This product pair is definitely my new favorite wash and go products. I didn't need to moisturize for 4 days, the definition is lasting for at least 6 days, and no flaking. Now I only use two products, and warm water in my sprayer on wash day.
Wash Day Regimen
1) Wash hair with TGIN Moisture Rich Sulfate Free Shampoo
2) Apply TGIN Honey Miracle Hair Mask (rinse in cool water)
3) Apply Kinky Curly Knot Today Natural Leave-in/Detangler
4) Apply Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic (works best on soaking wet hair)
5) Finger rake hair in sections
6) Let hair air dry or diffuse
